Services
Welcome!
The Reference Department is staffed during all hours of operation
by professional librarians with master's degrees in library science.
Our friendly personal will make every effort to help you find
the materials or information you need. We can assist you in learning
how to use the library and get you books, articles, and microforms
from outside the library. We also offer introductory classes for
the Internet to Hackensack Library card holders.

On
line Library Catalog
Using
the BCCLS system at home or
at the library you may look for books, videos, CD's, audiocassettes
or CD-ROM's available through the catalogs of BCCLS, BELS (Bergen
Schools), MAIN (Morris County) and PALS Plus (Passiac County)
libraries. Items may be reserved and sent to your local library.
Full text magazine articles may also be accessed. The
(Bergen) Record newspaper, full-text is available back to
mid 1984 by subscription.

Electronic
databases at the library
CD-ROM's
- We have more than 20 CD-ROM's on such subject as Government,
business, telephone directories, health, poetry, and literature.
Also
available through the OPACs (Online Public Access Catalogs) in
the library is a magazine index which has full text of articles,
the fulltext of the (Bergen) Record newspaper from mid 1984 to
the present. There is also a national newspaper index, a Consumer
Health index with abstracts and full text articles, and the ERIC
educational index.
